Knoxville is home to Des Moines’ closest drop zone

KNOXVILLE, Iowa — Des Moines Skydivers is located at the Knoxville Municipal Airport and it is known as Des Moines’ closest drop zone.

Des Moines Skydivers relocated from Winterset to Knoxville last year, building a new facility. Erik Christiansen, the Vice President of Operations at Des Moines Skydivers, said that Knoxville has welcomed Des Moines Skydivers with open arms.

“We have been very well received by the town by people in town that come out here. There are several times I’ve talked to people that they see the canopies in the air and they just come by and they just watch and they absolutely love watching us,” Christiansen said.
