‘American Pickers’ Will Film in Iowa This September
Earlier this summer, the show 'Antiques Roadshow' made a stop in Iowa to film a couple of episodes. Now, another popular show will be returning to the state to film!. A recent article from the Iowa City Press-Citizen reports that 'American Pickers' is set to do some antique-hunting in Iowa in September of 2024. An Iowa teenager landed in the hottest of waters after being caught going well over 100 mph near Ottumwa. The kicker? He was driving on a suspended license. The Iowa State Patrol are hoping this serves as a reminder for parents to talk to their children who are just starting to drive or are actively learning the Rules of the Road about the dangers of excessive speed.

Pella Knights of Columbus Held Annual Pellathon Thursday
The Pella Knights of Columbus 26th Annual Campaign for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities concluded Thursday with a seven-hour Pellathon at St. Mary’s Church. Members of the organization made roughly 600 calls to community businesses and residents on Thursday and have currently raised $48,000 for the special education departments at Pella and Pella Christian Schools, Christian Opportunity Center, 818 Forward with Faith, and the Iowa Special Olympics. Kelly Mitchell with 818 Forward with Faith says it’s been a great experience to partner with the Knights of Columbus to support individuals with intellectual disabilities.
