Police investigate fatal crash on Pellissippi Parkway

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. ( WATE ) — A woman was pronounced dead after police responded to a crash along Pellissippi Parkway near Northshore Drive Tuesday morning.

The Knoxville Police Department stated in a news release Tuesday afternoon that officers responded to the reported crash at around 8:30 a.m. following a witness report that a car had flipped off the roadway. When officers arrived, they found an upside down car with a woman inside of it, next to a tree. She was pronounced dead.

KPD also said that it was reported that “the car lost control for reasons that remain under investigation and veered off the roadway.”
