The Tennessee Vols will have a bit of a "hidden advantage" over most of the SEC in 2024.

There are only two programs in the SEC -- the Auburn Tigers and the Vanderbilt Commodores -- that will travel fewer miles than Tennessee in 2024.

According to Bookies.com , Tennessee will travel a combined 3268.58 linear miles for road/neutral site games this fall.

The Vols' longest road trip is to Norman for a matchup against the Oklahoma Sooners and their shortest road trip is to Athens for a late-season showdown against the Georgia Bulldogs.

No team in the SEC will travel more miles than LSU at 6,789.48 miles (which is more than double the miles that Tennessee will travel in 2024). Missouri is right behind LSU at 6,600 miles (you can check out the full list of miles traveled by each program in 2024 here ).

Traveling fewer miles isn't a major advantage for Tennessee, but traveling takes a toll on the human body. And the less traveling during the season, the better for Tennessee's players. It's an advantage, albeit a small advantage for the Volunteers.
