Tennessee Vols infielder Christian Moore was selected in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft on Sunday night and he made some comments that immediately went viral.

Moore was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels with the No. 8 overall selection on Sunday evening. Shortly after getting drafted, Moore joined MLB Network to speak with former MLB player Xavier Scruggs, who is now an analyst.

Moore told Scruggs that he's going to win a championship at the pro level because it's in his blood.

"I'm a winner, I'm a competitor," said Moore. "I don't know what's going to happen the next couple of years, but I'll promise you I'll get a ring for sure. It's in my blood."

Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello, who coached Moore the last three years, commented on Sunday night that he's never been around a position player that impacts the game the way Moore does.

"The one thing I want to say about being around him is for a position player to impact the game, it's difficult," said Vitello. "You need strikes from the pitcher. You may hit a ball hard at somebody. I've never been around a guy that can decide he wants to win a game and impact it the way he did ."

Moore is an incredibly talented baseball player who appears to have a big-league hit tool. When you combine Moore's talent with his extreme competitiveness and his strong desire to win, it's easy to see how the New York native has the potential to be game-changer at the next level. He helped bring a natty back to Knoxville, maybe he can bring one to Anaheim, too.
