KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Three people from Detroit, Michigan are facing federal drug and firearm-related charges after Knoxville Police found five guns and a “large amount of fentanyl and meth” during two Organized Crime Unit searches in the Asheville Highway area last week.

Knoxville Police Department released about the bust on Wednesday, saying the two search warrants, served at apartments in the Asheville Highway area, were obtained as part of two separate, ongoing drug trafficking investigations.

During the searches, officers found a total of five handguns, three of which were stolen, more than $18,000 in cash, approximately a pound of fentanyl, just under two pounds of crystal methamphetamine, and manufacturing items including cutting agents, masks, bags, and a hydraulic press.

KPD said all three individuals were taken into federal custody on numerous drug trafficking and firearm-related charges.
