Welcome to Your Week in Knoxville, emailed every Sunday only to subscribers, from Knox News editor Joel Christopher. A selection of our best pieces from this past week are featured at the bottom of this newsletter.

I am out of the office this week spending time with family, but wanted to take a moment to remind you that early voting continues through July 27. Knox News has assembled a voter's guide to help you make your choices in these important elections.

If you miss early voting, the Election Day is Aug. 1. Don't miss this opportunity to make your voice heard in elections that will decide Knox County races for commission, school board, law director, property assessor and judge. All voters regardless of party can cast their ballots to pick the winners.

At the same time, voters can choose a partisan party ballot to select candidates for federal and state elections. What party you select and where you live determine what races you will help decide. Your vote now will shape who is on the ballot in November.
