    One found dead after man with stab wounds shows up at Methodist church in Knoxville

    KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One person was found dead near Kingston Pike and I-140 after another man showed up at a church in Knoxville with stab wounds, according to Knoxville Police.

    The department shared that officers responded to Cokesbury United Methodist Church around 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, to investigate a report of a stabbing victim.

    Police said a man had shown up at the church with “non-life-threatening stab wounds”, and after further investigation, officers found another man dead in the area of Kingston Pike and I-140.

    The man who initially showed up at the church has been detained for questioning.

    Lineman electrocuted in Grainger County; investigation underway

    KPD said there are no outstanding suspects, and the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
