Tennessee is trending to land Greensboro (N.C.) Grimsley 2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon , according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) .

The Volunteers have a 94% chance of landing Brandon’s commitment, per the RPM. Multiple expert predictions have been logged favoring the Vols — most recently by On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons.

Brandon is set to announce his college decision on Saturday, Aug. 3 and will choose between Tennessee, NC State , Alabama and LSU .

“Coach [Josh] Heupel runs a very quarterback-friendly offense and he’s been recruiting me very heavily for a very long time,” Brandon told On3 in an interview late in June . “They were one of the first SEC schools to build a very good relationship with me and they’ve been doing it for a long time. That’s been a big thing that they have in their favor and it’s something that other colleges didn’t do.

“Also, coach Joey [Halzle] has shown me how they develop their quarterbacks, but not just one type of quarterback, but quarterbacks with different styles. Him showing me that he has worked with different quarterbacks – like a runner, a pocket passer and a dual-threat – shows me that he knows what he’s doing with developing quarterbacks.”

Brandon is the nation’s No. 10 overall prospect, No. 2 quarterback and No. 2 recruit from North Carolina in the 2026 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He rates as the top quarterback in the class in the 2026 On300 .
