Tennessee Vols OL Javontez Spraggins has perfect two word response when asked about UT's goals in 2025

"The standard at Tennessee is to win championships. We’re in a race to get there as fast as we can. We’ve done a lot of great things in the last three years, last season included. Proud of the steps that we’ve taken. But we got to continue to climb. And at the end of the day, you got to win every single day."

That's what Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel told reporters at SEC Media days last month.

The Vols may not be picked to win it all in 2024, but that doesn't change their goals. Tennessee is taking the field each Saturday this fall with the ultimate goal of bringing a national championship back to Knoxville.

That's why it wasn't a surprise to hear senior offensive lineman Javontez Spraggin's two word response earlier this week to a question about Tennessee's team goals in 2024.

Reporter: "What's your expectation for what this team can achieve this year?"

Spraggins (barely a second after the question was asked): "National championship."

"Me being around these guys every day and knowing what we can accomplish as a team," added Spraggins when asked why he has confidence that Tennessee can win a national championship this season.

It's clear that this team has a goal. And it's to win every game they play. That doesn't mean that Tennessee is going to run the table -- we'll just have to see how it plays out -- but there's no doubt that the Vols believe they're capable of winning it all. And a team with belief is a dangerous team.
