The Tennessee Vols are hoping to get some good news on Saturday when 2026 five-star quarterback Faizon Brandon announces his commitment .

Brandon, 6-foot-4/197 lbs from Greensboro, NC, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

Alabama, LSU, NC State, and Tennessee are the four programs in the mix to land Brandon.

It's the Vols, however, that are widely viewed as the favorites to earn Brandon's pledge.

VolQuest's Brent Hubbs joined 104.5 The Zone's Ramon, Kayla, and Will on Friday and he noted that Tennessee is in a "great spot" for Brandon.

"I think they're in a great spot with his recruitment," said Hubbs. "He was in Knoxville last weekend. I think his family really likes Knoxville. Great family, by the way. Mom and dad are terrific people. I think they're very comfortable in Knoxville. I think he's very comfortable in Knoxville."

As far as what the Vols will be getting in Brandon if he commits to Tennessee?

Well, it sounds like he's an incredibly dynamic player.

"What's his skill set? I think he's very accurate with the football," noted Hubbs. "I think he's accurate with the football off platform. He's got a great frame to work with. I think he can be a running guy if you want him to be and can take advantage of that skill set. I think he's got a good strong arm. I really like his game. I really like him....he took a major step this past offseason. Physically, just his arm strength and how he looks and how he filled out."

Tennessee is truly on the verge of becoming a quarterback factory under Josh Heupel. It seems like they're getting whoever they want at quarterback at this point. And it would be quite a surprise if they don't land a commitment from Brandon on Saturday.

You can watch Brandon commit live on Saturday at 3:00 PM ET on the 247Sports YouTube channel .
