Former Tennessee Vols standout making waves in training camp with one of the NFL's most storied franchises

It looks like former Tennessee Vols wideout Ramel Keyton is still doing something he did pretty well in Knoxville: make impressive catches.

The VFL signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent this offseason.  It hasn't taken him long to start making a name for himself during the Raiders' training camp.

Keyton joins a wide receiver room that includes one of the best in the game in Davante Adams (who is away from camp for the birth of his child), along with Jakobi Meyers and a host of relatively unproven talent.  If there's an opportunity for a young receiver to break through and make a roster, the Raiders would be up there on the list, especially given that Hunter Renfrow is now a free agent.

Keyton's calling card is his big play ability down the field, something that every NFL team is surely looking for.  At Tennessee, Keyton was a big downfield weapon for the Vols, averaging 18.1 and 18.3 yards per catch over his last two seasons.

Keyton helped deliver two of the biggest wins in recent Tennessee memory against Florida and Alabama back in 2022.  Against Florida, Keyton's diving catch inside the final two minutes of the first half set up a late score that gave the Vols the lead going into the locker room.  Tennessee went on to win 38-33.

In the final seconds against Alabama with the game tied at 49, Keyton caught a deep in route for 20 yards to get past midfield.  Tennessee ultimately won the game 52-49 on Chase McGrath's 40-yard field goal at the gun.

Now, he'll look to continue making plays on Sundays in Sin City for one of the league's most storied franchises. We'll see if he can keep the momentum going through the preseason.
