The Sedgwick County Commission has approved its budget for next year. Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News the budget process for the County is a big job, with 46 departments, that begins in February and ends in August. Baty says, "It's the bulk of what we do throughout the year. He calls it a "sizable lift."

Baty says the new budget carries a lowered property tax mill levy, the lowest mill levy in 27 years.

Thousands attended the one-day, weather-shortened air show at Wichita's McConnell Air Force last weekend. Baty tells KNSS News the base is a big part of the community, with many Air Force retirees settling down in the area.

Ryan Baty commented during his weekly appearance on the Steve and Ted in the Morning Show on KNSS.
