Motorcyclist dies in Fort Smith crash

FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Fort Smith Police responded to a speeding crash last night near Highway 71 that left one dead.

Zachary Boyd, 26 of Huntington, was said to have been driving a 2024 Yamaha at a “high rate of speed” southbound of Highway 71. The police report states he collided into the other vehicle.

The area around Highway 71 south and Burroughs Road were closed off for several hours overnight following the accident.

No other injuries were reported. This is the 307 fatal report in Arkansas for 2024.
