Storm sirens near 35th Street still not working in Chanute

CHANUTE, Kan. (KOAM) - Heads up residents in Chanute - storm sirens in the area of 35th Street are still not working.

The Chanute Fire Department posted the reminder on social media Monday with severe weather possible .

"We have been working diligently with our service technicians over the past several weeks to get them fixed but are still waiting on parts among other things.
It is believed that 1 if not both of the sirens on 35th were hit by lightning.
We will get the sirens up just as soon as we can. Please stay weather aware and have multiple ways to received any warnings that may be issued." - Chanute Fire Department
