Mental Health Center hosts Green Zone Program for service members

FORT SCOTT, Kan. (KOAM) -- The Southeast Kansas Mental Health Center is hosting a Green Zone program for service members and their families.

The program covers topics such as:

• Basic communication and interaction, questions not to ask
• Military culture familiarization and public-friendly terminology
• Best practices for forming community partnerships
• Veterans returning to school
• Volunteering with Veterans
• How an employer can best utilize Veteran skill sets
• Veteran healthcare and insurance types
• Getting a veteran to seek health and where to send them

The free event includes lunch, snacks, drinks, and door prizes.

Attendees will also receive a certificate and window cling.
