Pitt State Softball earns #1 seed, hosts NCAA regional

PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Pittsburg State softball team watches together on Monday morning as the 2024 Division-II NCAA Tournament bracket is released.

The Gorillas earn the #1 seed in the Central region. They will hosts the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round of the NCAA Tournament at the PSU Softball Complex in Pittsburg.

After losing to Rogers State in the MIAA Tournament championship, the Gorillas are motivated to end the season on a high note.

"It wasn't a good feeling and I think we wore that [loss] pretty good," PSU infielder Kadyn Trochim says. "It definitely gives us something to work toward. We don't want that to happen again -- especially on our home field."

"Hosting is absolutely amazing," PSU outfielder Heather Arnett says. "I knew we were going to make a regional. It wasn't an option not to make one."
