250 law enforcement officers for #SaturationSaturday 2024 across Missouri

MISSOURI (KOAM) — This past Saturday night brought together dozens of agencies across the state of Missouri to combat DWI (Driving While Intoxicated).

MADD Heartland Region was able to host roll calls at three locations with help from volunteers, community support and local businesses.

“ MADD volunteers and staff were honored to be a part of this year‘s annual Saturation Saturday this past weekend. Over 250 law enforcement officers across the state participated in high visibility traffic enforcement with a unified goal of protecting the public from impaired drivers. ”

“ We are so proud of the law enforcement officers who remove impaired drivers from the roadway, “ MADD Heartland state in a release, “ keeping our community safe, in hopes of a world of #NoMoreVictims .”

In the Joplin Metro Area MoDOT Southwest had personnel on scene during the operation. The central location where LEO checked in and processed DWI drivers was located at 32nd and Main St. The operation ran roughly 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Numbers from the evening were not available at the initial printing of this article.

Organizers remind this operation occurs annually on this weekend during the " Deadliest 100 days of Summer " the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Next weekend ends those 100 days, they ask everyone be vigilant to stay safe.
