KOAM Roadshow heads to Pittsburg's downtown block party

PITTSBURG, Kan. (KOAM) -- The first game of the season for Pittsburg State is almost here and the community is showing its support.

Community members, businesses, and the school is celebrating the football season with its "Paint the Town Red" event.

Friday, August 30

• 8 a.m.
  • Chamber Coffee hosted by Little Balkan's Day
• 9 a.m.
  • Begin Paint the Town Red judging for PSU campus
• 11 a.m.
  • Evergy Community Favorite polling closes
• 12 p.m.
  • Business Decorating Contest
• 6-8 p.m.
  • Paint the Town Red Block Party and PSU Pep Rally
• 6:30 p.m.
  • "Run with Gus" kids fun run (begins at 5th and Broadway)
• 6:45 p.m.
  • Community Pep Rally

Saturday, August 31

• 7 p.m.
  • First Home Game PSU vs. Washburn

KOAM will be live downtown as part of the KOAM Roadshow during the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. newscasts.
