PARSONS, Kan. (KOAM) — If a police agency equips their officers with tasers then some might require as part of training, an officer to experience being tasered.

Tasers are less-lethal tools that use electricity to temporarily halt a subject by locking up their muscles through an electric shock.

The Parsons Kansas Police Dept share video of two officers getting tasered in a controlled environment.

    Officer Malle taser exposure.

Officer Malle and Officer Allison both took volunteer exposures today. Officer Allison even agreed to take a double exposure.

A double exposure would be meaning struck twice by tasers at once. You can see Officer Allison really lock up as he is tasered the second time.

Before using a taser, officers should generally verbally warn the subject of their intent but it is not always possible.

    Officer Allison double taser exposure.

In the video you hear “taser taser taser” and the electric probes and shot into the officers back. The officer is caught by police staff on each side of them so they aren’t injured falling down.

The taser is generally engaged five seconds.

To see more of officers experiencing being tasered in a controlled environment as part of training generally use the hashtag #tasertasertaser on FB or TikTok.
