Woman recovering after bear encounter in Gatlinburg, TWRA says
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Sunday morning, the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) announced a woman is recovering after an encounter with a bear in Gatlinburg. According to TWRA, at 12:30 a.m., a woman left her room at the Super 8 Hotel on Historic Nature Trail in Gatlinburg and was scratched on her leg by a bear that was eating from an unsecured trashcan.
