PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — A person was hurt in Kelso, Washington after a shooting Tuesday night, authorities said.

At 6:50 p.m., the Kelso Police Department said officers responded to a reported shooting in the area of West Cowlitz Way and Catlin Street. Law enforcement from Kelso Police, Longview Police and the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office all responded, officials said.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found a driver with a gunshot wound who was “flown to a nearby trauma center for care.”

“Witnesses reported seeing a white passenger car, believed to be involved in the incident, fleeing the scene,” Kelso police said in a release. “That vehicle was located unoccupied less than 45 minutes later in Oregon.”

Police said it seems to be an isolated incident and unrelated to a recent homicide in Kelso that happened on August 2.
