PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) — Monday’s sunshine could turn to rain clouds in the coming days.

Multiple days of rain are possible in Portland between Wednesday night and Sunday. KOIN 6 Meteorologist Steve Pierce reports that Thursday has the highest potential for rain.

“The next chance for rain isn’t until Thursday, and even that will be light and showery in nature.” Pierce said. “This coming week will be very mild and quiet across the Pacific Northwest.”

Severe weather rolls through Willamette Valley

Temperatures are forecast to remain 5 to 8 degrees below normal this week. While late-August temperatures typically reach the 80s, Portland will see highs in the mid-to-low 70s this week.

The incoming rain follows severe thunderstorms that rocked and rumbled across the region on Aug. 17. The summer thunderstorms dropped 0.30 inches of rain on Portland.

The National Weather Service reports that other parts of the Willamette Valley received more than half an inch of rain.
