Join KOIN 6 to help SOLVE clean up Oregon’s rivers, beaches in September

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN ) – Environmental nonprofit SOLVE needs your help as its works to clean up Oregon’s rivers and beaches this fall.

The 2024 Beach and Riverside Cleanup begins Sept. 21 on International Coastal Cleanup Day and culminates on National Public Lands Day, Sept. 28.

The KOIN 6 team will join in on the cleanup efforts at SOLVE’s many sites that span the metro area and the Oregon coast from Astoria to Brookings.

For more than three decades, the cleanup has evolved from a project on coastal waterways to an event that extends to inland areas and watershed restoration projects. According to SOLVE, the event has become a “model for cleanup efforts nationwide and globally.”
