Eldon man dies after truck crashes into ditch

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Eldon died in a single-vehicle crash in Miller County Saturday evening, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP).

43-year-old Steven Buckner was driving a 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck north on Route Z about 1630 feet south of Old Martin Farm Road when the crash occurred.

The MSHP crash report says at approximately 6:22 p.m., Buckner’s truck went off the right side of the road and hit a ditch, causing the truck to roll over before it finally came to a stop.

Buckner was pronounced dead at the scene by the Miller County Coroner. The next of kin have been notified of Buckner’s passing.

This is MSHP Troop F’s 29th fatality crash in 2024.
