Monday, August 26 Forecast: Swinging back into summer mode

We have another 4 weeks to go of summer so we knew this day would come again. High temperatures are expected to be in the lower to mid-90s for most of this week. Heat indices will be around 100° Monday through Wednesday.

Today will be hot and sunny with not much relief found in any breeze. Tonight will be mild in the low 70s with skies remaining clear going into Tuesday.

Tuesday afternoon will see a few clouds from time to time along with the slim chance for pop-up showers and storms later in the day. Most spots won’t need to worry about rain on Tuesday, but leftover rain to our north could make a run for Central Missouri. Wednesday is looking identical.

We return to cooler-than-normal conditions to wrap up this week. A cold front is on its way and temperatures will once again lower into the 80s. The timing of the front will adjust temperatures on Friday, but the mid-80s are generally expected Friday into early next week.

Overall, this will be a cooler Labor Day weekend, however, there will be a few chances for rain. The best chance for rain will be when the front arrives late Thursday into Friday. Stary rain showers may linger through the weekend.
