JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Real Estate experts at AgentAdvice studied 11 metrics that show the desirability of an area. Jefferson City ranked number one as the most desirable city to live in.

The study broke down the average home size and price, the number of attractions and things to do, and the number of schools that rank in the top schools across America. The study also analyzed factors like average income, violent and property crime rates per 100,000 people, vehicle accidents, rent and living costs, and the percentage of residents living within half a mile of a park.

These elements were used to calculate a score out of 100 to finalize the ranking.

Jefferson City scored 61.33 out of 100, making it the most desirable city to live in. The study says the median house price, $289,320, is below the average across the other 387 cities analyzed at $416,764. The home size, however, is above average at 1,944 sq. feet, compared to the average of 1,901 sq. feet. Renting is also more affordable, with the lowest fair market rent at just $646. Jefferson City also has 11 top-ranking schools and a low crime rate.
