Springfield beats Nats, four wins away from victory record

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Springfield Cardinals were looking for their 74th victory of the season Wednesday night against Northwest Arkansas.

If the Cards can win 78 or more they’ll set a franchise record for wins in a season.

And it was Fox 49 Night at Hammons Field.

The Cardinals wearing Rescue Hi Surf jerseys, that’s a new show premiers September 22nd on Fox 49.

Springfield had ace Tink Hence on the mound.

And Tink did not need to be rescued.

Tink hence threw 77 pitches and collected eight strikeouts in four innings of work.

Springfield got a pair of three run homers from Dakota Harris and Matt Lloyd.

And Springfield wins 10-5, four wins away from the record.
