    Springfield man arrested after fleeing from crash, police say

    SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield man was arrested for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident.

    According to a Facebook post from the Springfield Police Department, Rodolfo Hernandez, 24, was arrested for an alleged DWI and leaving the scene of an accident.

    On Aug. 31, officers were dispatched to a crash at Campbell and Sunset. The victim said the suspect vehicle fled the scene.

    Witnesses told officers the suspect vehicle was in the 200 block of W. Glenwood and was seen hiding a vehicle bumper behind some trees near an alley.

    After setting up a perimeter in the area, SPD found the suspect on foot on Jefferson Avenue near Broadmoor identified as Hernandez.
