The call came in just before 2 p.m., triggering a response from Davie Fire Rescue, with 20 firefighters swiftly converging on the 16755 Berkshire Court address.

The fire posed a formidable challenge; nestled in the attic, it proved tough to contain, necessitating a concerted effort to tackle the blaze. Fire Marshal Bob Taylor described the fire as primarily confined to the attic and roof, yet extensive smoke damage permeated much of the house.

Fortunately, Hill was not present during the outbreak, but family members were inside the residence. Swift evacuation ensured their safety, a crucial factor in limiting the extent of the damage.
