Lincoln County Sheriff's Office Acquires Advanced Drug Testing Device

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office has recently obtained a cutting-edge tool, the TacticID Mobile handheld Raman analyzer, to enhance its capabilities in combating drug issues within the community. This device, which also aids in detecting explosives and chemical agents, was acquired with funding from Lincoln County Opioid Settlement Funds through Lincoln County Health and Human Services. The Raman analyzer has already proven effective in real cases, confirming the identity of suspected illegal drugs and identifying substances initially thought to be drugs as other materials. The device offers a safer and more efficient alternative to previous drug testing methods, reducing the risk of chemical exposure for deputies and evidence control specialists. Sheriff Curtis Landers expressed that the new technology aligns with the office's mission to enhance public safety and improve deputy safety. The device is available to other law enforcement agencies within Lincoln County and represents a significant step forward in safe and reliable substance analysis. #PublicSafety #LawEnforcement #DrugTesting #LincolnCountyOR #TacticID #RamanAnalyzer #OpioidCrisis #CommunitySafety #SheriffsOffice #AdvancedTechnology.
