The ballots, crucial for participating in the electoral process, are scheduled to reach voters shortly. It is imperative that all eligible voters cast their ballots by 8:00 pm on May 21, 2024, the designated deadline for submission. Voters have the option to utilize the United States Postal Service or any official ballot drop site in Oregon to ensure timely delivery of their ballots. To facilitate efficient processing, voters using the postal service are advised to mail their ballots at least one week before the election day. Additionally, those utilizing postal services on or near the election day are encouraged to request a hand-cancellation stamp (postmark) from the post office.

The Douglas County Clerk emphasizes the following reminders to voters:

    - Ballots will be dispatched to registered voters based on their residential address and political party affiliation as of the registration deadline, which was April 30, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.

    - Eligibility to receive an official ballot for the May Primary Election necessitates being registered to vote with up-to-date voter registration information.

    - Registered Oregon voters requiring updates to their registration details, except for party affiliation, have until 8:00 pm on May 21, 2024, to effectuate these changes.

    - Instances of recent registration alterations subsequent to ballot printing may prompt the issuance of a second ballot, identifiable by a blue slip of paper, which should be the one cast.

    - In the event registered voters have not received their ballots by Friday, May 10, 2024, they are advised to promptly contact or visit the Douglas County Clerk’s Office, situated in Room 124 of the Courthouse.

    - Prior to submission, voters are urged to thoroughly review and complete both sides of the ballot.

    - The signing of the ballot envelope, in accordance with the printed name and address, is mandatory.

    - The signature on the ballot return envelope should mirror the one on the individual’s most current voter registration card, with reference available from the Oregon Driver License or ID.
