DFW hit 107 degrees Monday, officially the hottest day of the year. A lot of you seem to be taking the warnings seriously and staying indoors! KRLD has been checking in with hospitals, they say there have not been a lot of heat-stroke cases.

At the Parkland Hospital emergency room things are not much worse than normal when it comes to heat-related injuries. Chief of Emergency Medicine Doctor Jeffery Metzger says people either stayed indoors or are used to doing strenuous outdoor activity. For instance high school athletes and band members.

Still, he recommends sports drinks instead of water. And for the adults, definitely stay away from the alcohol. That makes dealing with the heat a lot worse.
