More isolated showers and storms are in the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday and chances go up through the weekend. Temperatures will also be cooler this weekend due to a stalled cold front, clouds, and rain in the area.

Parts of North Texas saw some scattered showers and storms early Tuesday evening, and that will be the case again Wednesday and Thursday as a weak upper-level low-pressure area continues to spin in South Texas. There's another upper-level low off of the lower Texas coast that will be moving northbound Thursday and lingering to our south into the weekend.

This combined with a slow-moving stalling cold front will produce more widespread shower and thunderstorm activity for the holiday weekend. Lightning, brief heavy rain, gusty wind, and some localized flooding will be the threats.

Wednesday will be the hottest day with afternoon highs reaching the mid-90s again. Low 90s for Thursday, upper 80s for Friday, and mid to upper 80s into the holiday weekend, cooler when it's raining.

Scattered showers and storms will continue Labor Day into Tuesday as well.
