More than 80% of Texas is experiencing some form of drought

There was a significant jump in the drought situation in Texas.

The latest map from the US Drought Monitor shows more than 80% of the state is experiencing some form of drought, that is up about 18% from last week.

Wise County is dealing with severe drought -- two notches below the worst rating... while portions of Denton, Collin, Tarrant, Dallas and Rockwall counties are seeing moderate drought. The rest of the area is rated abonormally dry... the lowest on the scale.
