SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — A woman was fatally struck by a box truck in San Francisco’s Glen Park neighborhood Thursday afternoon, according to the San Francisco Police Department. Officers responded to Bosworth and Diamond Streets at 2:50 p.m. on a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision.

At the scene, officers located a woman suffering from injuries and rendered aid. The woman was declared deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. He was seen crying and distressed over the crash.

Impairment due to drugs and alcohol doesn’t appear to be a factor, police said.

The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigations Unit is investigating.

“My office and I are aware of this tragedy and are working with first responders as they investigate this crash,” said District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman in an X post . “Our hearts are with the victim and her loved ones. We will share more details as they’re released.”

The collision also impacted traffic, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Muni lines 23 and 36 were blocked as a result of the crash, which did not involve a Muni vehicle.

People in the area are advised to expect delays and transit reroutes. Inbound and outbound buses on the 23 and 36 will reroute via 280 between Bosworth and Foerster, according to SFMTA.
