    Oakland quadruple shooting leaves 2 dead, 2 in critical condition

    OAKLAND, Calif. ( KRON ) – A verbal altercation led to a quadruple shooting in Oakland, according to the Oakland Police Department.

    Around 9 a.m. on Saturday, a ShotSpotter alert was activated near the 1600 block of 83rd Avenue. The department’s communication division was also notified of a suspected shooting in the area.

    Responding officers said they located four victims who sustained gunshot wound(s). Despite the aid rendered to the victims, two of the four were pronounced dead at the scene. OPD said the other two victims were taken to the hospital and listed in critical condition.

    Man arrested for ‘unprovoked' attack with metal pipe

    According to the preliminary investigation, multiple individuals were having a verbal altercation. One of the people engaging in the dispute pulled out a firearm and fired multiple rounds, striking the victims.

    The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle after the shooting, according to OPD.

    The victim’s identities are being withheld until their next of kin is notified.
