Vallejo police car shot during investigation

(KRON) — The Vallejo Police Department reported that a patrol vehicle with two officers inside was hit by gunfire overnight while investigating multiple shots fired.

The incident occurred at 1:02 A.M. on Aug. 17 as the officers were responding to a report of gunfire in the area of Harbor Way and Mare Island Way, said VPD.

Shortly after, it was confirmed by the officers that their vehicle had been struck by at least one bullet.

No arrests have been made, and the shooting is still under investigation.
