San Jose restaurant suffers two burglaries in less than a month

(KRON) – A San Jose restaurant has suffered two burglaries in less than a month. Funny Farm Restaurant took to its Instagram to inform patrons and San Jose residents that the restaurant was burglarized in the month of August.

Funny Farm Restaurant posted , “Unlucky number seven!” According to the establishment, the restaurant has been burglarized seven times. The restaurant explained in the post that the building’s ADT security system “failed” to sound the alarm.

In a picture provided by the restaurant, at 4:31 a.m. on Saturday, a masked burglar entered what seems to be the office. In the photo provided, the burglar was wearing a mask, gloves, a hat and a long-sleeved shirt. The restaurant also posted a picture of shattered glass on a bottom window.

On Aug. 13, Funny Farm Restaurant posted that they were broken into the night prior. “Last night, we were broken into again!!”

The post tagged District 8 councilmember Domingo Candelas, who commented that he would “connect” with the San Jose Police Department captain and called the burglary “unacceptable.”

On Aug. 16,  Funny Farm updated its Instagram followers that the window that was broken in the burglary days prior was fixed.

According to the eatery, restaurant employees entered their shift cleaning up broken glass on Aug. 15, 2023. Funny Farms posted security footage of two suspects who broke into the restaurant around 2 a.m. that day. One of the hooded suspects smashed the glass door with an object. When both suspects were in the building, the alarm sounded off and the suspects fled in a getaway car.

Per the Funny Farm’s website, the restaurant’s food twists “everyday favorites” in “downright looney and wonderful” ways. The restaurant is located at 4898 San Felipe Rd. in San Jose.
