Lafayette budget proposes big pay raises for some LCG workers
Lafayette Mayor-President Monique Blanco Boulet will introduce her first budget proposal to council members on Tuesday, July 16. We've learned that the budget plan will call for hefty pay raises, as much as 30% for some Lafayette Consolidated Government employees.

The Food Network came to Southwest Louisiana to film an episode of its popular reality show, 'The Great Food Truck Race,' featuring star chef and host Tyler Florence. This cooking competition, which started in 2010, comprised of six to nine teams to test their staying power in the challenging food truck industry.

Tuesday will be hot with highs in the low to mid 90s with low rain chances. Rain chances will be higher Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the low to mid 90s. Rain will be likely Friday and over the weekend, and heavy rain is possible at times. Highs will be a little cooler as we will see them in the low 90s. Louisiana baseball pitcher LP Langevin selected by Kansas City Royals in 2024 MLB Draft
After one stellar season in Lafayette, Louisiana baseball's relief ace is going pro. Right-hander LP Langevin was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the fourth round of the 2024 MLB Draft on Monday. Langevin, a Quebec native, came to UL after two seasons at Wabash Valley College in Illinois. In his lone season with the Ragin' Cajuns, Langevin led the Sun Belt Conference with 106 strikeouts, while also allowing the fewest hits (40) and runs (27)...
