New Mexico will see another night of widespread rain. Temperatures have cooled off slightly, but are preparing to warm back up.

Showers and storms have already been seen this afternoon across the mountains of New Mexico. Later this afternoon and into the evening the rain will intensify and increase in coverage. The north, central, and west New Mexico can expect to see isolated showers tonight. The heaviest rain will be seen along the Sangre de Cristo and Sacramento Mountains. Due to this heavy rain, the NWS has issued Flood Watches for the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon and Ruidoso burn scars. These watches will be in place through the evening of August 13th.

    Forecast Continues Below

New Mexico will begin drying out on Wednesday as upper level winds shift to the west. Storm chances will decrease. The best chance for rain later this week will be in the mountains. Along with drying out, the state will also begin heating up tomorrow through Saturday. Albuquerque could see temperatures as high as 99 Degrees. The southern regions of New Mexico can expect to be back into the triple-digits.
