    Albuquerque adds drinking fountains and shade structures to parks

    ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – As hot heat continues, the City of Albuquerque’s Parks and Recreation Department is making sure residents are prepared. The department has added shade structures and drinking foundations to dozens of parks across the city. Right now, 29 parks have drinking fountains including Old Town Plaza, Tingley, and Sierra Sunset.

    City of Albuquerque shares update on Wells Park improvements

    The city said since 2018, they have spent roughly $1.6 million on 40 shade projects in parks like Anderson Highland and Women’s Memorial Park. The city hopes the improvements will help residents spend more time at the parks.
