ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State Police are once again helping parents reconnect with their kids if they get separated at the state fair thanks to the Tag Your Tots Program. Officers have a station set up where children can get a wristband with a parent’s name and phone number. If a child gets lost, they can find an officer on the fairgrounds and they will notify parents that they found the child.

“Kids like to wander off, so we do have a lot of people who come here and we like to do everything that we can to get them reunited, if they happen to wander off to go grab a toy, grab some candy grab some food,” NMSP Officer Wilson Silver.

The program is free and available throughout the fair. NMSP said the wristbands are available for anyone who wants them, young or old.
