    City of Newton plans outage ahead of system upgrade

    NEWTON, Kan. (KSNW) — The City of Newton is migrating to a new accounting system.

    They have scheduled a planned outage that will begin Monday, May 13, at 5:30 p.m. During that time, the system will be taken offline as technicians migrate the city to the new accounting system.

    City of Wichita faces ransomware attack

    The migration is expected to last several days. During that time, city staff will be unable to process any payments, including utility bills. Newton residents are asked to plan accordingly.

    Services should be back online by May 16.
