MCPHERSON, Kan. (KSNW) — In what has become a routine occurrence for the Kansas Highway Patrol , a trooper has stopped another driver for going over 100 mph.

Trooper Ben Gardener shared a photo from KHP Lt. Eric Rust, who stopped a driver clocked at 101 mph in a 60-mile-per-hour construction zone Thursday morning in Southern McPherson County.

The fine for speeding 30 mph over the limit is $195, plus $15 per mile over the original 30 miles over the speed limit. The fine also doubles in a construction zone in Kansas.

However, the cost of the fine is the least of the driver’s worries. They were cited for no proof of insurance, an expired registration, and, as it turns out, they have an outstanding warrant.

The unidentified driver has been arrested.
