SALINA, Kan. (KSNW) — A Salina judge has sentenced a former teacher and coach to more than seven years in prison.

A jury convicted Barry Fritz of aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated solicitation of a child last November.

Saline County deputies arrested him on March 17, 2022 , after investigating a child sex crimes case. A spokesperson for the Salina Police Department said the arrest stemmed from an incident at a south Salina home on Nov. 24, 2021. Police say the victim was a girl under the age of 14 who was an acquaintance of Fritz.
