    U.S. Forest Service to hire 250 permanent firefighters for region

    LAKEWOOD, Co. (KSNW) — The U.S. Forest Service Rocky Mountain region wants to hire over 250 permanent seasonal wildland firefighters.

    The firefighters will respond to fires in national forests and grasslands in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Open positions include engine operators, hotshot crew members, hand crew members, helitack crew members, air tanker technicians, air tanker base managers, fuels technicians, fire prevention specialists, assistant fire management officers, dispatchers, and other essential fire management positions.

    Boil water advisory ends for some, not for others

    The jobs are open to U.S. citizens or nationals who are at least 18 years old. Applications will be accepted from Aug. 23 through Sept. 4.
