    Woman hit by truck while riding a bike in south Wichita

    WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A 20-year-old Wichita woman suffered broken bones and some possible internal injuries when the bike she was riding was hit by a truck. It happened late Sunday, around 10:14 p.m., near 47th Street South and Water.

    A witness at the scene told Wichita police that a westbound truck left after striking the bicyclist, who was also heading west.

    As for biking at night, police have this advice.

    “Wear brightly colored clothing, if you could. Go ahead and maintain visibility by having your lights illuminated on the front. Wear a reflector and even a light on the back, if you can and maintain the traffic laws as always,” Sgt. Heather Huhman, Wichita Police Department, said.
