    Firefighters respond to Garden City house fire

    GARDEN CITY, Kan. (KSNW) — Firefighters in Garden City responded to a house fire on Monday afternoon.

    A news release from the Garden City Fire Department said around 2:39 p.m. on Aug. 26, crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 2300 block of C St. in Garden City. All members of the family were reported to have evacuated.

    When firefighters arrived, they found a single-story home with heavy smoke coming from the eves and fire inside the house. Crews began attacking the fire and completed a search of the home. No victims were found.

    The GCFD said the fire was called under control at 3:02 p.m.

    Fire Marshal Gene Robertson completed an investigation, which found the cause of the fire was accidental.
