WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – For those who could not make the trip to Arrowhead, Festive ICT held a big public watch party at Naftzger Park in downtown Wichita on Thursday.

Food trucks, vendors, and, of course, the game on the big screen, along with upwards of 250 die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fans. Chiefs fans hope for a three-peat this year.

From a pop-up bar to food trucks and vendors, the energy was electrifying.

“Go big or go home, three-peat or nothing, man. Why not?” Wichita resident Chad Mack said.

“I mean … go, Chiefs! That’s what I’m going to say … Go Chiefs, you know?” Organizer Nnanna Okpara said.

Fans say that food, drinks, and a big screen are all they need.

“It’s very beautiful weather. We have music playing right now. We have the Chiefs on the big screen. I think having this at Naftzger Park, it’s really amazing to have the community come together,” Wichita resident Anthony Mai said.

Okpara says it’s all about community.

“I like to talk about and celebrate the things that bring us together like football, like food, sports, food, music, booze …. whatever, whatever, whatever it takes to bring us together,” she said.

For the first game of the season, hopes are high for what could come for the Chiefs.

“Can’t too many people can be in a position to do this, and y’all put y’all selves on the road to glory, so that’s what I’d tell ’em, ‘Why not? Why not us? Why not us?'” Mack said.

In the end, the Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens 27-20.

Festive ICT has more events coming up soon. On Sept. 13, they will host Shop and Grub on McLean Boulevard.
